Training was held on 31 August 2021 on a virtual platform, with over 100 participations from various institutions

On August 31, 2021, the Financial Sector and Intellectual Property Project (FSIP) coordinated with the Intellectual Property Training and Consultation Center (IPTC), under Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam (IP Vietnam) to organize an Intellectual Property Commercialisation Training for universities and research institutes in Vietnam.

The FSIP project is part of the ASEAN Economic Reform Program, funded by the United Kingdom, which aims to support Vietnamese Government and other South-East Asian countries in developing their intellectual property (IP) systems. With professional support from Rouse Legal Vietnam, the project has been designing and implementing multiple professional consulting and capacity building activities for IP Vietnam, Copyright Office of Vietnam, and National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development (NATEC).

The training was held on 31 August, 2021 on a virtual platform, with the participation of more than 100 delegates (TBC) from IP Vietnam, NATEC, universities and research institutes across the country such as Vietnam National University Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Institute of Chemical Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Science and Technology, etc.

Summarising the program, Mrs. Yen Vu, Executive Lawyer and Director of Rouse Legal Vietnam – a Member of Rouse Network, FSIP Project Expert, emphasised the importance of training to raise awareness about the protection mechanism, management and utilisation of IP assets in universities and research institutes in promoting research activities as well as technology transfer, contributing to socio-economic development. The practical case study shared in the workshop will encourage the IP commercialisation more vibrantly at universities and research institutes in Vietnam.
