The growth of R&D activities in ASEAN (The Association of South-East Asian Nations) raises number of issues especially the uncertainty about employees’ right to inventions benefits. In large, this is due to the unclarity or uncompletedness of national laws and the absence of benchmarks for compensation. Although those concerns merit senior-level attention, they can be managed effectively. In this article, our experts review the contours of China and Southeast Asia's legislation in a bid to develop winning strategies for managing employee’s inventions.
