Biography
Rachel is a Principal, our Global Head of Trade Marks and General Manager of Hong Kong.
Rachel leads Rouse’s global trade marks team and has handled a wide range of issues relating to trade marks and designs across many jurisdictions.
Her current practice covers multi-jurisdictional brand clearance, protection and registry enforcement, with a focus on trade mark authorities and administrative court litigation in China. She provides strategic advice on trade mark portfolio creation and management, localising foreign brands, registering non-traditional trade marks, obtaining well-known trade mark recognition and combating bad faith trade mark applications. She also supports brand owners on advertising and media related issues to ensure their communications with consumers complies with local laws and regulations as well as cultural sensitivities. By leveraging data and analytics, Rachel assists brand owners in focusing their trade mark activities in ways that build brand equity.
Rachel broad client base spans varied industries including technology, consumer products, electronics, machinery, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, travel and leisure, agriculture, entertainment, and fashion. She has been counselling some of the world’s leading technology companies and rapidly growing fashion brands in recent years including assisting:
